It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything new to this site. That’s mostly due to the fact that I’ve struggled for years as to what this site should be, which is a pretty lame excuse, I’ll have to admit.

However, a couple of days ago, I left a comment on a Linkedin post that talked about how important simulations are in learning. The post linked to a blog post that listed the benefits of simulations, explained what they are, and shared some tips for using them.

My comment was, essentially, ‘why is this a blog post, and not an actual simulation designed to teach the point?’ Because the company posting is promoting a simulation creation tool, it seems like an obvious thing to do. Compare this with the infographic entitled “What Infographics Are“. Brilliant, and concise. Now, why couldn’t we see a simulation entitled “Hank discovers the power of simulations”? Don’t get me started on vendors who can’t show you any samples due to proprietary issues. But that’s a rant for another day…

I really hate to be so grumpy. Maybe I need more fiber in my diet…

Oh, and before I forget: Cookie Monster’s cookie recipe
